Minimum wage: Politicians, with no expertise and no skin in the game, telling employers to pay workers more than their productivity brings to an enterprise.

Result: Employers sack the workers, sometimes even shutting down businesses that would become unprofitable (see Kroger in San Diego). Or, they turn to automation to replace the unprofitable workers.

End result: More unemployment, more reliance on government handouts, more power to the politicians.
