“Maybe now is the time to cast aside the market and the state as our saviors, and instead consider an alternative: one that recognizes the ability of people to organize and design solutions for themselves.”

I have a feeling you haven’t yet recognized that people organizing themselves voluntarily and thereby designing solutions for their common benefit is, in fact, the very definition of a market.

I don’t blame you; markets are systematically mischaracterized by the advocates of top-down control (a/k/a politicians and their statist, socialist bedfellows) as if they were a problem in need of a solution. Unfortunately, the deception begins in the government schools, so as children turn to adults they must be un-taught.
