Great story. Let’s rid the world of guns and make it a safer place for everyone. And all the other instruments of death, while we’re at it. Nukes, for example. It doesn’t make sense to start with the small stuff. You can’t stop a river by piling up some stones in the riverbed.

So let’s get serious about it: let’s take the guns and the other killing tools out of the hands of the politicians and their warmongering friends. They’re by far the most egregious of the killers in today’s world, and they’re only constrained when their targets shoot back. Once we get the worst killers under control, the rest of us will feel safe enough to get rid of our guns too.
